What are the O’Reilly apps, and how do I download them?

How do I pair my device?

To pair your mobile device:

  • Log in to your account via a browser and click the user icon (desktop) or the menu icon (mobile). Navigate to Settings > Your Devices.
  • Select the Connect Device button to get your pairing code.
  • Open the O’Reilly mobile app on your device.
  • Enter the email used for your O’Reilly account.
  • Enter your pairing code when prompted.

To log in using a smart TV, you have two options:

Option 1: Connecting a device

Can I use O’Reilly on my Kindle?

Most e-readers, including Amazon’s Kindle devices, prevent the installation of third-party applications. Due to the nature of our business, we can only distribute content through our own apps—for more or less the same reason that Spotify songs can’t be played in iTunes, for example.

Can I sideload the O’Reilly app onto my Android device or Amazon tablet?

If your Android device is unable to connect to or the but otherwise meets the requirements for installation, you can download an APK for sideloading onto your device from this link. Please note that sideloaded apps don’t automatically receive updates, so you’ll need to keep track of that yourself.

Does the mobile app offer text-to-speech functionality?
