What type of content does O’Reilly offer?
Our learning platform offers multiple content formats including:

- Certification guides: Complete sets of materials you’ll need to help you prepare for the industry’s most sought-after certifications—including official prep materials from the vendors themselves. You’ll find a variety of content formats like self-paced books, instructor-led videos, and interactive practice tests.
- Expert playlists: Collections of top tech and business content handpicked by some of the brightest minds in the industry. Each playlist is their recommended list of books, video clips, and chapters they believe are essential to know about a given topic. You can follow, share, or even make a copy for yourself.
Can I access content while I’m offline?
Yes, the O’Reilly mobile app for iOS (in the ) and Android (on and ) allows you to download content for offline viewing on your phone or tablet. Remember, content can only be downloaded through the mobile app, so you’ll need an internet connection to access content on your laptop or desktop.
Are there any additional costs for live events?
If you’re an O’Reilly subscriber, all live events are included in your membership at no additional cost. If you don’t have an O’Reilly membership, you can purchase a seat to many of our live events here.
How do I join a live event?
There are a few different ways you can join an event:
- Home page: In the 15 minutes before the course is due to start, a pop-up will appear on your home page with a link to join.
- Live events page: You can find all events you’re registered for in the Your events tab of the . Just click the card and select Join now!
- Email: We’ll include the link to join in the confirmation and reminder emails you receive about the event.
You’ll need to be logged into your account to join the event, and you can join up to 15 minutes before it’s due to start.
What happens if I miss a live event?
If you miss a live event, no worries. We record our events and will send you an email with a link to the video once the event has ended (within 24 hours). That said, we do recommend attending the event live to get the most out of the experience—you can ask our experts your questions and chat with other attendees.
How do I access a live event recording?
You’ll receive an email with a recording of the live event you registered for within 24 hours of the event’s conclusion. You can also find these recordings on the and your profile page under Your Recordings.
How do cloud labs work?
Cloud labs take you through steps to complete a task within a secure sandbox environment, with no additional costs or test instances to clean up. Temporary user credentials are provided at lab start, and you log in to the account through an integrated CLI or through the cloud platform UI console.
When you complete or leave the lab, the user account session will end and all resources and associated data will be deleted within one hour of starting the lab.
Is there a time limit to read books on O’Reilly?
No, there’s no time limit to read books as long as you have an active O’Reilly subscription. The time shown next to a title isn’t a countdown or expiry—it’s simply an estimation of how long it will take you to complete it. All content available on the platform remains accessible throughout the duration of your subscription.
Can I request a title?
Titles on O’Reilly are provided by publishers at their discretion. Not all books are available due to licensing or resource limitations. If a title is from a nonpartner publisher, we’re not able to offer it on the platform.

How do I access my member library?
To view previously purchased content, sign in .
Does O’Reilly have audiobooks?
Yes, audiobooks are available to listen to on desktop and mobile. To find an audiobook, select the Audiobooks filter under Formats on our global search and skill pages.
Where can I find the exercise files for a book or video?
Books or videos that refer to working/exercise files will often mention the location of these files in a chapter at the beginning or end of the book, or in an early clip if it’s a video. You can also find these files in a GitHub link at the bottom of the title’s overview page under Resources > Supplemental Content.
If you can’t locate those files, please check the publisher’s website or get in touch with us and we’ll do our best to find them for you.
